As before, due to BMW ShiftCam technology for varying valve control timing and valve lift on the intake side, it provides superior power across the entire speed range, extremely smooth and quiet running and outstanding consumption and emission values.
Suspension remains unchanged with the BMW Telelever at the front and the BMW Paralever single-sided swinging arm at the rear ensuring high riding stability and optimum handling characteristics.
Dynamic Traction Control (DTC) comes with a new “Eco” riding mode as standard. The Pro riding modes with riding mode preselection and dynamic engine brake control are optional equipment although standard on higher specification models in some countries. The Dynamic Engine Brake Control is a new component of the Pro riding modes. The adaptive swivelling LED headlight illuminates the road ahead at an angle based on lean into corners providing more light in the direction of travel. This improves both visibility and safety.
Cruising Light (in some markets) allows the turn indicators to “glow” increasing the visibility of the bike for safety. With Headlight Pro, as you can see in our photo the headlight has an X-shaped light icon that functions as a striking daytime riding light when the function is activated. When the dipped beam is switched on, it illuminates with reduced brightness.
The new convenience lighting functions include a “Welcome” function, a “Good bye” function and the “Follow me home” function for convenience and orientation.
A 12 V vehicle voltage socket and a USB-A socket with 5 V power supply are now standard.
An M Lightweight Battery is now a option which is around 3 kg lighter than the standard battery.
Heated seats now an option or available as standard on some models in some markets.
At launch there are three optional factory specified Billet Packs available; Classic, Shadow and Storm.
A fully spec’ed bike in most markets will include Keyless ride, Chrome exhaust manifolds, Heated grips, Navigation device preparation, Cruise control, Hand protectors, Pannier mountings, Riding mode pro, Dynamic ESA, Shift assistant Pro, Adaptive headlight, Daytime riding light, Multifunctional indicator lights, Cruising light, Headlight Pro.
You can still order a base bike without the majority of options above.
